Significant Relationships I’m married to the brilliant Sam – since 1990. I’m privileged to have 5 sons: Ben, Joel, Luke, Isaac and David with Abdul part of our family too.

Pets Harvey: a lolloping Bassett Hound, plus 5 Blackrock freerange hens.

I appreciate Beaches, bacon and Manchester United. I really value generosity, simplicity, festivity and humility.

Optimist or pessimist? Optimist. Definitely.

Book that changed my life Has to be the bible. It’s still changing me.

Favourite hour of the day Either the first when I awaken, or the last before sleep.

Shower or bath? Shower.

Coffee or Tea? Depends on the time of day. First thing: mug of tea. Midmorning: Flat White in my keepcup.

Thriller or comedy? Comedy. It’s good to laugh.

Favourite hat Leather base-ball cap, bought in USA about 14 years ago.

Best piece of advice Being told by my father as a child to pray the prayer of Samuel: ‘Speak, Lord – your servant is listening’.

Would sing a duet with Norah Jones.

Favourite destination St Brelade’s Bay, Jersey.

Happiness is following Jesus Christ.

Success is being all that God’s called me to be and doing all he’s called me to do.
