What a wonderful reminder that God calls the old and the young. We live in the season of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit prophesied by Joel. Joel is at pains to point out that the Holy Spirit is being poured out on ALL, the young who have visions, and the old who dream dreams. Both complement each other. Visions are forward looking, in dreams (like Martin Luther King’s ‘I had a dream’) you are already there. I believe a church in harmony with the Holy Spirit takes cognisance of both the old and the young.
