5th December: There was much fear in the world at the first Advent. God knew this, telling Zechariah and Mary separately not to be afraid. In today’s word where so many are gripped by fear, we need to hear God speak the same word to us, enabling us to rise above our fears and live confidently in the courageous kingdom of God.

Thank you for reminding us about the Lord’s attitude and response to all fear.
Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. Luke 2:10
Fear not, O land; Be glad and rejoice, For the Lord has done marvellous things! Joel 2:21
This is a season not to be afraid, but to be of joy. The Lord has put in place marvellous things for us in 2019.
