12th December: It’s good to ask questions. The Bible encourages it. At the first Advent, Zechariah and Elizabeth both asked similar questions of the Angel Gabriel but got very different responses. In this podcast Matthew explains why and how it’s important to check motives and guard our hearts. The attitude behind a question is more important than the question itself.
Have you ever been amazed and stunned by an answer to a question you ask the Lord. The Bible is full of answers. I read Isaiah 61 recently and reflected on what it said. Simply put, a dimension is what is on the Lord’s heart is to restore our nation. And I asked the question, how can all this happen in our nation today? I long for our nation to return to the Lord. By way of an answer I felt led to meditate on the Book of Joel, for we are in the season prophesised by him, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. It gives us answers to three questions; what is the state of our nation; what God wants us to do about it; what the Lord wants to do about it. It left me so amazed and stunned, I have written a memo about it.
